500 Million Accounts Hacked in 2014 According to YAHOO!
According to Yahoo, 500 million accounts were hacked in 2014 from its network by state-sponsored actor."
The accounts were hacked to stole the date like names, email addresses, telephone numbers, dates of birth and hashed passwords but didnot include unprotected passwords, payment cards data or bank accounts information.
Yahoo said that they had found none evidence against state sponsored actors in their group. They said they are working with law enforcement agencies.
Erizon Communications Inc likes to buy Yahoo's core internet properties for $4.83 billion. The leaks may effect this deal.
Erizon Communications Inc said "We will evaluate as the investigation continues through the lens of overall Verizon interests ... Until then, we are not in position to further comment,"
