Americans and Guns Americans own an estimated quantity of 265 million  (265,000,000)  guns. More than one gun for every American, but every American doesn't possess a gun. The interesting fact according to a study is that half of these guns are owned by 3% of the Americans.  The 3% owners have an average of 17 guns each. The survey is conducted on 4,000 Americans.  The 2/3 of whom said that they had guns for their self defense.  The researchers are from Harvard and Northeastern universities. The partial results are published by The Guardian and The Trace . The full results have not been published yet. It is an alarming situation because in the recent days, Mass Shootings has been increased in America. A lot of incidents had been occurred. People took their guns and killed a lot of innocent people.
